These is also gvSig, as a GIS package its actually (fairly) simple to use.
OA do a version http://oadigital.net/software/gvsigoade/gvsigdownload, its nicely done.
The original is at http://www.gvsig.org, but when I last tried it (a while ago) it gave me help in Spanish and I struggle with English...
