Um... yes. I think you may find that it is not Current Archaeology it is something different.
Read this first.
Now I will admit I am going to be joining in with this - because we already know what we do (I hope) this is for everyone else.
Why? well, because it started in a conversation between two people I know and respect... and is aided by others I know and respect. I also think it is about time we did more positive things. If you are unemployed, then why not add that to it... why not?? Show the whole range of archaeology, from the happy person on a hillfort in Scotland excavating and training... to the let down and bitter unemployed archaeologist.
Me... I am up for it.

Damn right

Quote:Have you ever wondered what archaeologists really get up to? Is it all just digging or is there a lot more to it? The Day of Archaeology 2011 aims to give a window into the daily lives of archaeologists. Written by them, it will chronicle what they do on one day, from those in the field through to specialists working in laboratories and behind computers.
Quote:Day of Archaeology was born after a Twitter conversation between Lorna Richardson and Matt Law during the third annual Day of Digital Humanities in March 2011. They thought it would be interesting and fun to organise something similar for those working or volunteering in (or studying) archaeology around the world.
