Sorry, I read it, I just try not to add anything if I don't have anything useful to say. Don't always succeed though!
I think the point about salary/cash flow (and I'd add profit) for self-employed people is a useful one to have made. There's also the people who are employed by a limited company that they own (much easier to get mortgages etc that way) who will therefore not show up as self-employed.
In the end, with all of this, you have to draw a line somewhere and the authors have attempted to ensure that the ine is at least drawnin the same place each time, so at least the trends are useful.
