Removal of a company from BAJR |

This is kind of a heads up warning to those who know - that I will soon be removing a company from BAJR. they will be unable to place adverts and are removed from the contractors register. The reasons are various and serious enough for me to take this action. Some of the reports that have been coming in for various sources relate to activities that have taken place over a number of years and have yet to stop.
I am giving people some time to decide on their best action. --- do please get in touch if you need to talk ---- I have already discussed with a few people already.
thanks...
This is not a discussion thread. It is a statement.

This project, supported by Jisc, will use 3D laser scanning, CT scans and high resolution photography together with new clinical descriptions and historical illustrations to create a web-accessible archive of photo-realistic digital 3D models of pathological type-specimens. The skeleton collections used in the project will be from internationally renowned collections that have restricted access and are therefore usually only seen by students and researchers.
The project will create a unique educational tool that will appeal to various disciplines including clinicians, medical trainees, medical historians, archaeologists, osteologists and palaeopathologists, as well as enriching the public understanding of anatomy and medical science.
Project leader Dr Andrew Wilson, senior lecturer in Archaeological Sciences at the University of Bradford, said: “The project will also play a crucial role in conserving a resource that is otherwise under threat from damage. Pathological specimens are often the most handled bones within skeletal collections and yet they are also the most fragile.

What are the health risks associated with fieldwork?
I noticed that there was a previous posting on mental health issues.
The recent posting on diversity brought up the subject of skin colour.
My professional background relates to skin, cancer and radiation. I was also treated for skin cancer 30 years ago.
Have there been any studies to look at skin cancer incidence, both on exposed areas of skin and elsewhere, in the elderly who have worked long-term, at some time in their career, as field archaeologists?
Is there a higher than normal incidence of back/neck and knee problems?
Are there respiratory problems in those who have worked on dry soils/sands or with biologically contaminated materials, eg fungal spores etc?

[h=2][/h] [INDENT] [h=1]Local Audit and Accountability Bill [Lords] (28 Oct 2013)[/h]
"The cabinet system means that all major decisions in my area are made in part 2 of the cabinet agendaâthat means in confidence and in secrecy. As an officer in the past, I have advised on what should be in part 2 and what should be in part 1 and in public.
Decisions which I considered in the past should be made in open committee and information upon which those decisions are made are almost inevitably put in part 2 in Hillingdonâthe confidential part of a cabinet meeting. I want to see a provision in the Bill which restricts the ability of members to avoid accountability by putting decision making into the secret part of cabinet agendas."
"I shall give a couple of examples to show how ludicrous the practice has become. For the building of a new school in my area, a matter which I have raised in the House before, a consultant was employed to examine which site the school should be built on. It was controversial because the council wanted eventually to build on a country parkâa green-belt field about which even the Mayor of London expressed his concerns.
"The consultantâs report on which sites were examined, all in council ownership, was put in part 2 of the cabinet agendaâthe secret part. Even freedom of information requests were refused on the grounds of Commercial Confidentiality."
"Let me give another example. On the same site there was a recent archaeological find of flints. The report from the archaeologist who discovered the flints was put into part 2 [the secret part] of the cabinet agenda on the basis of commercial confidentiality. It might have been commercially confidential 6,000 years ago, but not now. Eventually both reports were released, but not in a timely fashion."
