You know thinking about this I wonder if the Fen lands rumpus is all a bit of a smoke screen. I am more worried about what is going on in Merseyside no archaeological advisor and an HER is now so expensive to access that only a commercial unit can afford the charges. ( yes they are apparently charging the general public and academics to acess the H.E.R). Councils that are quietly getting on with disregarding their heritage so big developers can freely get on with reviving the economy ( ha b..... Ha)(allegedly) But of course sending polite responses to concerned heritage types that they will most certainly take the heritage into consideration but they do have to make cuts. Death by a thousand small cuts.
