A BAJR conference road show! Superb! Agreed-we`re all hideously skint. One of the motivations for putting off the big event until next year is that, I would like to see coachloads of heritage professionals turn up. I`m looking into funding potential to achieve such a thing. One of the benefits of staging small regional events is that firstly, regions can then present their agenda at the main conference next year and, issue local press releases outlining their demands! Sorry...concerns....
Think small regionals is a great idea-the last thing I would like to be involved in, is an annual event where only the same privalaged few are able to attend-monopolise issues and dictate to the remainder of the profession (IFA stylee). Regionals would provide an opportunity for all to put their quids worth in. Once next year is ready to go, would be nice to see the regional groups descend on the main conference. Accommodation issues and costs could be kept down by simply holding the main conference in a tented (festival type) environment. We all get together once a year!
