I'd be happy to help too, in any way possible. Have some experience of organising small conferences and society type things a few years back, not to mention some wicked parties! Probably something to bear in mind is that big conferences take a long time to organise properly, it might be a good idea to follow Peter's suggestion and have a small event first, possibly a few in the run up to a bigger conference.

I imagine we're all spread out across the country too, and mainly fairly skintish, which might make for poor digger turnout in one main conference. How about regional one day affairs first to get the ball rolling?
