I am wondering if anyone who works on this contract might be willing to keep a personal diary of how the project unfolds, how difficult it was to register for work, getting a bank account, getting accomodation, the good times on site, not so good times etc etc.
....With the intention of sharing it with us all once the contract is completed. I am thinking this may become a useful BAJR-type guide to the process of obtaining work abroad (especially as one hears such varied reports of the digging scene in Ireland). I am sure David could sort out some way where all names are changed to protect the innocent, "I made my excuses and left"- type disclosures.
I personally would also be interested in whether such a short-notice/short contract job attracts experienced or less experienced candidates and whether its the money or the craic that's the main attraction.
