jimbomobo Wrote:lol. You're best bet (if you are looking for volunteer work) would be to check with the universities in the north.

UCLAN and Hull come to mind.

Have a look at their websites and look for some contact details for the Archaeology division.

Hope it helps and good luck Smile

I'm not totally sure how it all works, but it might be worth finding out if you can still be registered unemployed in order to have your NI contributions paid. If you don't, this can come back to bite you. There again, if you're not available for work it might not be possible but maybe there's a provision for volunteering type activities.

Haven't checked but I assume they'll be digging at Binchester again this year (community project, think Durham Uni use it as a training dig too), check out Durham CC website.

Shame I'm not allowed 200 vols on my site....8 will have to do...:face-crying:

thanks everyone, just gotta keep trying I guess! I would just rather volunteer than be sitting around doing nothing for the summer! plus I am heading back to the alps for next winter so don't really want to be going for anything permanent! (haha permanent at the min!) I am putting off my decision about whether to stay in archaeology or not til next year! its just a wee bit too depressing lol! Big Grin
