Sad News
#1
Arrived back at work this AM to find that Geoff Egan died over Christmas, there's a short obit here http://independent.academia.edu/paulcourtney/Blog. I can't claim to have known him well, my main contact was with his 'technophobe' side when he was working on Meols (basically I turned the PC on and then off for hiim), but he was an inexhaustable font of knowledge on medieval metalwork and a thoroughly nice bloke.

Agreed... we wish for him a good memory for those who knew him and for those that will read about him

Very sad indeed, a genuine nice bloke with an amazing knowledge and always time to help. May he rest in peace.
