Now thats a thought that went through my head... was it all jaw jaw... nod nod... really must do something about that... terrible... state of the ...crisis... blah...diddley blah... lovely cakes... excellent... must meet up next year... and so it goes.

Perhaps a conference is not to act, more to meet.?

But would like to know if anything interesting hit the floor... and jumped up and down while slapping people on teh cheeks?

Maybe we should decide to have our own conference, and discuss face to face what we want in British archaeology and how we may achieve it ? Let's face it we'de be far nearer to the reality than those in the "Ivory Towers"

Well actually there have been two BAJR conferences, in 2006 and 2007. They were free (maybe that was the mistake) in a lovely venue in York, with free food, and did most people bother their arses to turn up, did they hell!!! Even most of the archaeologists in York didn't bother, so what does that say.

Sad but true... ythe conference videos have been watched by hundreds now... decided after the last one, to save some energy... and money... (thanks to those who turned up and did debate... and did chip in) but is embarressing when you have an eighty seat medieval hall, and enough people to sit round a cafe table!

alking of conference videos, I've noticed a lot of the younger diggers around here seem to have flash new mobile fones that for some reason do more than make calls, even video conferencing :face-huh:

If you got that few attendees would this be a cheaper option for future BAJRfests?

Just got one myself... apart from drooling over it... it can now act as a fully mobile office and survey machine with GPS and basic GIS... georef photos (5 Megpxels) and a database linked to access .. with my business partner, we are also working on a phone system that links to the office with information...

and yes... mine even has video conference .. jsut don't have anyone I can talk too!

There seem to be plenty out there, diggers of today seem to leave them lying in the mud on the side of trenches as some sort of high-tech minefield for supervisors while they ignore them and concentrate on trying to dig in time to the i-pod.....I really do feel old some days, and it's not just the aching knees.....
