Thanks for this clear statement. Things have got better, but yes, oversize waterproofs are not OK, jackets with cuffs down to the knees are inneficient. I had, quite recently, to wear a pair of oversize (and overheavy) site boots through the winter on a very claggy site. By the end of it I had seriously damaged the articulations of my toes becase the toe-cap (under pressure from a continuous 10-20cm claggy sole build-up) had stressed the joints: the overheavy and ill fitting boots had also caused tendon strain in the knees.
