OK best days.
When I got to excavate several lovely pits chock full of Neolithic pot, hammerstones, flint and insitu burnt wattling that they had used to line said pit. OOOOO it makes me wet mesel just thinking of it - and the weather was fandabbydozy!
Then the lovely beautiful Romano-British corn-kiln with several broken quernstones, lots of pot. The feature was clay lined, all insitu, with fab strat, and to top it off, a later cremation dug into the top of it - aaaahhhh! And i got to dig it all by myself heheheh!
Or when we recently discovered a wonderful intact and SEALED prehistoric landscape under a 12th century priory, with features and topsoil chock full of beautiful flints, then it became one of the worst days when the county mounty decided it 'wasn't relevant', and the unit director was equally interested. Ahhh, professionalism with a capital P. It may be gone now - sob!:face-confused:
the future's bright; the future's trowel shaped
