Newton Rebels

?38k p.a. pro rata 3 month project

We are seeking a suitably qualified, resourceful and imaginative researcher for a 3 month study to explore historical sources and to identify potential ways that the anniversary might be marked.

Supervision will be provided by Professor Steve Hindle of Warwick University who will be a member of the steering group.

Key tasks will include the preparation of a report, and contact with community groups, schools and young people to start planning activities to celebrate the quatercentenary of the uprising.

This post is available immediately in order to ensure that a report will be produced by September.

Newton Rebels is a community based history association dedicated to commemorating the 400th anniversary of the 1607 Newton Rebellion, when 40-50 peasants were massacred in a tiny village in Northamptonshire by landowners in the culmination of the Midlands Revolt. There is currently no record of the event or memorial to those killed.

Another day another WSI?

There is currently no record of the event

How do they know it happened then???

There is currently no record of the IFA taking any action whatsoever against muppetry in the field by their members (with the obvious exception of one unit who was a bit naughty in their application).Despite this, the IFA does exist (apparently), plays an enormous and important role in our profession and should be applauded loudly for being smashing chaps all round.Just because you can`t see them-does`nt mean they don`t exist.Just because 1man1desk isnt standing behind us watching every day, does`nt mean that we are all irretrievably dillusional either.Wink

..knowledge without action is insanity and action without knowledge is vanity..(imam ghazali,ayyuhal-walad)

1man is always standing behind me and I'm fairly sure he exists, however, if this keeps up I'll have to start wearing my tinfoil lined hard hat in the office as well as on site!

I never said you were delusional, or that the problems don't exist - just that you won't take steps to address the problems you constantly raise.

Anyway - what's this got to do with the Newton Rebels?

I like the way this argument is spilling into all the other threads. It's just like the big fight at the end of Blazing Saddles! Smile

You must be psychic Curator Kid. We had a very similar discussion earlier on today. Watch out for the scrummage going on in the Bajr Buy It section.

By the way, my real name is Headley Lamarr, That's Headley! Headly Lamarr you twit! Smile
