I am afraid I agree that 'even' 14 days inside will not be nice...
If you could tell me who to write to your MP for example... I will draft up a letter that people could download and post... this may be worthwhile highlighting in the press as well... as all you have done is not received a form... you have not made over 20k and do not seem to be alone in this vindictive pursuit... criminalising is not a light thing to do to someone... this action should be exposed.

they'd probably still whack you with a bill for the full amount anyway on top of it, if you fork out for the court date its bound to be cheaper in the long run

Thank you guys. As it happens, a colleague of mine had a prospective MP knock on her door pre-election. She was asked what issues were important to her and she mentioned this little affair of mine with the SLC.The MP` response was that if he were my MP he would look at it "seriously". I do intend to write to my MP as a first salvo-when I receive a response, I shall let you know. Not sure about having life invaded by the media though...How many others out there are having issues with the SLC?

Me Troll, they just won't accept that i work for a company that lays me off almost every month then takes me back on when the work picks up. nor will they accept that i am still doing an MA at my own expense (or my wifes) without proof of income above what i've sent them.

Well the Inland revenue usually gives me major grief every year, but that's probably what comes of working both sides of the border

"Write to your MP" yeah right! he's probably done more porrage than Ronnie Barker!
Go to the court, explain the situation, when they don't believe you (cos they won't) pay the back payment and re-defer.
there's nothing else you can do mate.

Could always turn up at court dressed up as a large succulent strawberry. If I barked the word courgette every couple of minutes, I could claim diminished responsibility.[:p]
