When did your purported cattle run go out of use? Sometimes it's worth loitering with intent to snare a likely local. So many things've become clear for me that way. If the specs allow and you've the time the local paper or radio is often a good option.

Piccie please, I'm intrigued. Smile I don't know about down steps, but cows and horses have been known to ascend steps. Although I'm not sure what that would be like in a crowed situation with a herd of (stressed) animals.
