I should say that currently - there is a statement intended for Monday.
The Engineering company AME is in control of the archaeology and the intended meeting on Friday was rescheduled. and in is obvious that pressure is having an effect.
The archaeologists on site carried out work, took samples (when told not to) and kept records when told not to. so held up a mirror that showed these brave archaeologists put archaeology above all else.
According to here:
http://www.wesleyjohnston.com/roads/a32c...tlink.html the original EIS was prepared in 2005. It would be nice to see this too.
2008 now:

The more questions that are asked.. the more they will take this seriously.
I do not want to prejudice things just now.

no its not-who is the land owner....and who is the copyright holder.....why do you live in cloud cocuoo land. Seems to me that you want the current so called archaeologists to be give more time where as I would suggest that they are incompertent and I suspect becuase they are part of the pension grabbing variatey...

Unitof1 I think the engineering company is actually in charge of the archaeology. From what I can gather the site director was employed directly by the engineering company and the field-workers were sub-contracted in. Also from what I can gather, and what bajr is stating, the only reason the site is recorded in any form is because the staff went against the orders of their superiors. As far as I am aware this was a private company.

Huh, a bit of snooping suggests it is all a bit more muddy then that. Perhaps your cynicism is correct on this occasion Uo1.

Construction on Cherrymount Link stopped at Crann?g site until full excavation takes place. Alex Attwood says it'll take as long as it takes. It won't be rushed. There'll also be an independent review of what has happened to date.

Still seem to think it is unexpected. even though it has been known since the 1870s and appears on OS maps in 1830 and 1860s.
Hmmm oh and it is on a SMR

Ahhh you see in Ireland we have such a thing as floating archaeology. A naturally occurring phenomena, with much in common with the Bermuda triangle, it only effects archaeological sites and monuments usually associated with large engineering works. Typically these sites would have been 'visible' during the 19th century and thus are noted in modern EISs. However a unique combination of as of yet unknown circumstances results in their movement or disappearance during the tendering stage. Another famous example is Carrickmines. On this occasion a castle went missing only to reappear in the path of the M50!!

These magical forces are an industrial byproduct of the celtic twilight. It's a sort of an occult effluent.
