2) Does anyone know if there is any truth to the story that Petrie's head and a significant 'body part' are preserved somewhere in UCL?

V Gordon Childe committed suicide by jumping off a cliff in Australia so you'd be better of searching in Oz. He might have been cremated.
The mummified head and other body parts of Jeremy Bentham are preserved in the Quad in UCL perhaps this is a confusion with Flinders Petrie.
