As a cartographic aside, am I the only person who bemoans the dumbing down of Landranger maps by the replacement of the old letter labels with icons (e.g. a pint pot for the earlier 'PH')

Never understood SUD as line of sight is by definition direct...hey ho.

...and yes, don't like the icons either...almost as annoying as the ones for hotel and camping site facilities...
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Merlot in one hand, Cigar in the other; body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO, what a ride!

Nice to know the cartographer’s art is still appreciated

Keep your eyes open for the cliff and boulder symbols on the old county series and 1:2500. In the days when they were hand drawn the cartographers sometimes added a little something extra (or so I have been told) helps to hold the map upside down or at some other angle than the norm.

Dammit...I was off to the bar too but I am going to have to go and unearth a 1:25 000 now to look!

Think it only has OS maps for England, the rest of the country doesn't appear to be loading on my computer
