expert in Norman architecture - Wiltshire?
#1
Question: can you help them?

Quote:Can I ask if you know or can recommend a person that we can talk with who is an expert in Norman architecture, and may have knowledge as to early Norman domestic buildings constructed on castle sites, not Keeps, but structures built not long after conquest as part of a manorial set up.

We are a small group in Wiltshire who are working on a local project and are looking into Norman buildings.

I will pass on details

Have they tried asking Wiltshire Buildings Record? They might not have a Norman expert but would probably know of one. They're based at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre.

Have they tried the remainder of the once-mighty EH specialists over in Swindon? There may be a suitable bod despite the recent clear-out.
