I have had suspicions for a long time now that you were a stoolpigeon for the FBI- possibly this kinda helps-but I am not sure as in what direction

(I tried.. but you know me)

Seems to be doing well... but apart from thanks for all the positive comments.. (and sorry to those we have not replies to.. we are a bit overwhelmed!!) We would love to have emails and critique as well... what worked, what did not... what was clear what was confusing... and if you want to email a reply to the viewpoint article on the duty of archaeolgoists to the public/locals!

I want it to go well for you but

I didnt send this yesterday

Its free, what does that mean in the world of the internet. I cant say that it does anything for me, as soon as I read anything that says some university digging in some other country and wants volunteers, no professionals required, I go ay ay and switch off I could chuck preservation in situ polluter pays at it, it doe seem totally excuse dog for anybody in the world can go and volunteer anywhere in the world- its only archaeology (and a first year undergraduate ripoff)- as for ?the archaeology can benefit more than the archaeologists? in a journal for volunteers it is just another professional diggers nil by mouth care in the community lets rip off archaeology-I am not sure where I stand if every time I dug a hole I had to give generators to the locals and the government decided to put a road in, is it ethical, unless I got the contract to do the archaeology on the road and the quarry?s and then this leads to more archaeology contracts all minor points when really I would be very impressed if there was some shadowy figure in the background who was making a killing out of it.

Somebody once told me that the reason lord Rothschild/sainsburies funded the lets turn this bit of Albanian coast line into a lets not allow any building here the archaeology is too important is because he happens to own some property that that?s over looked by it all in Corfu possibly a principle nicked from neolithic long barrows and no mans land

And everywhen I see catal I have to stand as a James Mellaart student and I am still trying to find a copy of hodders phd because I would like to do the same amazing things with thin sections that he can do

As for crows nest its got a ?founders' dream? and I am sure it does.

Yes its not for me but if I can find out how you make money out of it I might copy it, possibly if you want any cred you might consider criticizing some of the volunteer opportunities on offer and intrude concepts such as rates of pay, sick days professional standards ?but that might be a bit ground hog like

Thats BAJR's job.... not Past Horizons... however fair points... can we take that as a letter to Past Horizons?

Certainly but its not my best almost coherent but not quite I would like to gets at some nuns with chilli peppers init and people who dress according to their religion. Its also really meant for bajr as I don?t really know past horizons and I don?t like to be critical of virtual entities as it encourages them. Next they will think that they have got rights. Also I keep getting threatening messages from a Mr < deleted > that he does not like being associated with me. Will you have to hang with the British academy overseas schools if you carry on with this path?

Past Horizons Magazine - FREE and OPEN to ALL - BAJR Host - 15th March 2008

Time for your medication Sir...

Ah the smell of boiled potatoes... happy memories of British Schools abroad... from Ankara to Jerusalem... from Amman to Baghdad (closed for refurbishment) and from theran to Totnes... been there got the t-shirt and love em. Like a maiden aunt... who gets a bit squiffy at Christmas and does that dance that nobody wants to mention...

Seriously though ... the point is that archaeology can get to focused on cash... profit... overheads and costs ... I'm up for a bit of fun, public, excitement, change... opportunity to dig with no developer phoning up and find with no time limit or budget hanging over me ........... NIEVE?? perhaps...... but tell me.... who wakes up every morning with a smile?
