In a way, this was never going to be a simple victory for the protesters. However, it is starting to pervade the public conciousness... Questioning ownership of cultural artefacts -

These items were often taken / looted or removed in a different era ( sometimes legally) - but does this give countries the 'right' to buy and sell another countries patrimony?

How would the USA feel if I was rich enough to take the Declaration of Independence so I could put it on my wall? What about stonehenge? any takers?

IF we don't have enough space in our museums for our own culture... why do we fill it with other peoples looted items.

Recently there was the report ( that we carried ) on the photographic scanning of the figure from Rapa Nui. the biggest question I have is why is it still in Britain?

Attitudes are changing. and hopefully, these sales will become as unacceptable as drink driving
