I see your record is still scratched Paul...
better than having one which is tarnished by the irresponsible behaviour of the majority of my fellows I guess...

So you deny that the 60 milion have an interest or stake in what a minority does to the heritage? Well, lets see if those who DO care can change their minds shall we? If the public are not involved or informed, that is a failure of [u]archaeological</u> outreach.

Rubbish, its not just down to archaeological outreach, if the public had a genuine interest then they would seek out the information.

Dont twist my words, I never once stated that the 60 had no stake in the heritage as you well know! I said that the majority had more important things to concern them.

I cannot for one second imagine that there are 60 million people walking around this country (the UK, not Poland) obsessed with what is happening to their heritage or even giving it a second thought.

Also, bear in mind, that the so called 'irresponsible' behaviour you are so keen to promote is in fact only YOUR opinion.

You have absolutely no right or mandate to dictate what is responsible behaviour.

Just because we do not 'care' in the way you do does not make us wrong, just different.

Paul, your opinions are as biggoted as the most vile racist at times.

By the same token then if artefact hunters were really "interested in the past" then there would be no need for a PAS to do any outreach to them either. Actually, I think you are wrong. The topic of the need for archaeology to reach out to the public has repeatedly been raised on this Forum.

Not just mine, but all who support the Code of Practice launched 2nd May (including some detectorists I believe). Unless you have now changed your tune on the latter, it is your opinion which differs from theirs.

"Just because we do not 'care' in the way you do does not make us wrong, just different". yes, we've been through the "differently responsible" discussion in the "Understanding Detecting" section of the Forum.

Paul, your opinions are as biggoted as the most vile racist at times.
My "opinions" about what? I doubt whether you know my opinions on anything very much apart from on the need to conserve the archaeological heritage and debate the artefact hunting issue, but there is far more to my opinions than that.

First of all I will make a note of the fact that you have totaly ignored your manipulation of my words.

I didnt ask for PAS, I was more than happy to record finds with my local county archie, we had an excellent relationship thanks. I have talked to several archaeologists who would also prefer this method of recording.

Archaeological outreach may well have been raised on here many times, and although the incentive may wear the hlao of outreeach to exapnd knowledge, we all know the real reason is because you are all **** scared of losing funding and a heightened profile and raised awareness will go a long, long, long way to help secure funding.

The real bottom line is that before too long PAS will be the boss of all UK based archaeology, centralised and certainly more cost effective.

I have not changed my mind at all on the need for a CoP Paul, rather than blindly accepting the axis version I am more comfortable with the UKDN version, which only today I have been preparing PDF formats for easy downloading from the UKDN website.

As to vitriol, or opinions Paul, they is far more than enough opf them splattered across the internet as you try to fulfil your mission to break the hobby.

Who for? Will it be available to the general public so they can compare "differently responsible" with the version agreed by most of the concerned organizations?

Of course your mechanations are enough to drive anyone to sleep Paul.. evidently even yourself.....

The downpoads are for the benefit of detctorists Paul, not the general public, not archies... detectorists.. if you have a problem with that.. tough.

I have to say that you are fast acheiving your goal Paul, you and Nigel both will soon have driven an unscaleable wedge between the hobby and the archies... you must so very proud of yourself, most of all for the ruination of the hardwork of others...

You a clever man Paul, but a hell of a sad b......
