In 2005 Victoria County History received Heritage Lottery funding to help bring its renowned academic study of local history to new audiences. Since then England#146;s Past for Everyone has been working with local communities on research-based projects, producing a series of 15 paperback books, an interactive website and learning resources for schools.

With the conclusion of EPE in February 2010 the Is England#146;s Past for Everyone? conference provides a timely opportunity to assess the achievements of the project. Colleagues from heritage, education, publishing and local government will also speak about their own experiences of promoting the historic environment to new audiences.

This two-day conference will include presentations, panels and workshop sessions, covering topics such as

? running successful outreach projects;
? identifying local funding partners; and
? working with schools.

There will also be the chance to get outside and explore the diverse history of Bristol itself.

Supported by Heritage Lottery Fund, English Heritage and the Council for British Archaeology, this conference is a must for all those who value the opportunity to share ideas with colleagues, contribute to best practise debate and influence policy and decision makers in the sector. It is aimed at teachers and learning professionals, colleagues from the heritage and museum sectors, local authorities and those interested in setting up and running volunteer projects.

Constant development is the law of life, and a man who always tries to maintain his dogmas in order to appear consistent drives himself into a false position.

Hi Wibblehead, I've done the same with our bean counters; hope to see you there, maybe we could arrange a meeting of the BAJR Community Heritage officers?
