Archaeology and Education 2008 - YORK - BAJR Host - 20th August 2008

The booking deadline for the Archaeology and Education 2008 conference is approaching fast! So to get your place you need to book before Friday by going to http://www.britarch.ac.uk/shop/ or by sending the conference booking form back to us here at the CBA (you can download the booking form from: http://www.britarch.ac.uk/conference08/docs/Booking_form.pdf).

The Archaeology and Education conference for 2008 will take place on 5th September to 7th September (registration and accommodation will be available from the afternoon of the 4th September) and will provide an opportunity to learn from projects providing education about archaeology in Schools, Museums, Local Authorities, Community Archaeology groups etc.

The first day of the 2008 conference will include plenary sessions on National Initiatives, International education projects, and Local projects from around the UK.

The second day will be dedicated to Workshops split into the following four themes:

Working with children and young people;
Working with the public;
Formal education workshops;
Other initiatives (PAS, YAC, EH etc.).

The final day will include a visit to archaeology and education centres within York and a plenary session of short papers sharing innovative practice and experience in archaeology and education which we hope will provide useful experience for those developing their own education and outreach areas.
