Didn't archaeology start going down hill when Ian Hodder "invented" Ethnographic data collection methods which other "Hodderites" continue to use.

Are you suggesting Tim that archaeology had somehow peaked before Ian came on the scene? If that is the case then 'downhill', would be from a fairly small summit, probably somewhere in Norfolk.[8D]

PS the poem was written by Alexander Kieller, who excavated Windmill Hill and Avebury. All attempts to identify the culprit have only resulted in something about 'thoracic nervous system of prawns'.
