wotta load of pooh - Curator Kid - 7th July 2005 "Howdy Ho!" "...some times he's runny, some times he's firm, some times he's practically water..! " } ![]() My point is - they're all different. Recognising them individually on site will probably be almost impossible in most cases - they decay beautifully too. Surely better just to realise that you're in a cess deposit (the greenish colour usually, as you say), and adopt some good old fashioned, well-tested sampling proceedures? 30-50 litres in a box and a column sample through the section should do it. Let the environmentalists poke around in it and decide what the people had for dinner! ![]() Having said that, I did find one desiccated in a drain once when I was digging abroard in a hot country. It looked a bit like that old white crumbly dog poo that you don't seem to see any more. wotta load of pooh - troll - 8th July 2005 Many thanks guys (I think...). I may indulge in some experimental archaeology...root about in portaloo blue rinse...identify firm candidates...dig little oles on site...come back in a year..... ![]() wotta load of pooh - deepdigger - 8th July 2005 Why not be truly experimental and do the whole thing yourself? Cool hand Luke impression, eat 50 eggs first, then dig holes, then.....Oh no!! deep |
