There will be an opening ceremony at 11.00am led by a Boudica (she is bringing her own chariot). The event will include guided tours led by volunteers, a Roman food stall where you can try food samples, and a Roman soldiers mingling with the visitors.

There will be two performances by the Colchester History Alive! group of an entertainment which they are producing especially for the day (performances in the morning and in the afternoon).

Visitors will be able to explore the developed displays in our circus centre and recent developments on the circus site, such as the reconstructed stumps of the starting-gates and the visitor walkway. We will also be unveiling our completed circus super-model seating thousands of tiny spectators…

More details to follow. All welcome. The Trust look forward to seeing you there!

The circus site and centre will be open to visitors from the 28th March.
