Archaeological monitoring by AOC Archaeology Group during infrastructure works associated with the upgrading of the Talla Aqueduct at Blyth Bridge, Scottish Borders, identified a probable stone-lined bread oven relating to the occupation of the adjacent Roman temporary camps at Castlecraig.
This represents the first directly dated evidence of Roman activity relating to these sites and provides a valuable insight into day-to-day activities within and outwith the camps during their occupation.
