AHI 2017 Discover Heritage Awards are open for nominations

Celebrating the best of all types of interpretation, the AHI 2017 Discover Heritage Awards – for excellence in cultural and natural heritage interpretation in Britain and Ireland, are open for nominations.

The AHI Discover Heritage Awards celebrates and showcases good interpretive practice. It is the only Awards for all types of interpretation judged by peers. The Awards provide national recognition and publicity for winning and shortlisted sites and feedback on all entries. It also offers mentoring opportunities for volunteer judges through pairing up with experienced interpreters when evaluating shortlisted entries.

There are seven Awards categories:

The 2017 AHI conference will be a joint venture with Interpret Europe (IE). In recognition, a new European Heritage Interpretation category is being introduced, where members of AHI and IE will be able to nominate up to three sites from across mainland Europe, that they feel offer award winning interpretation to their visitors. Once five sites are shortlisted, the AHI and IE members will be able to vote on the winner!

You can enter your project, exhibition or event in the 2017 Awards online at http://www.ahi.org.uk/www/awards until 28 February 2017.

Winners will be announced by AHI Patron Loyd Grossman during a gala ceremony at the joint AHI-IE conference in October 2017.

The 2017 Awards are sponsored by Wessex Archaeology.
