disheartened

Mr Hosty,

Tis time for us all to take a moment and applaud you soundly for BAJR mark I. BAJR is a fantastic achievement, it is an absolute must when job-hunting, a brilliant discussion forum, and a real sign of changing times. It has gone far far beyond a simple jobs service, to become a real and regarded voice in archaeology, with huge potential for changing much which many of us are unhappy with.

With such a precedent, BAJR mark II has an awful lot to live up to, but I think we're all here confident that it will be an even bigger success! Right now, I would like to thank you for the unimaginable amounts of time and effort you have put into BAJR, and I think everyone else will agree.

So let's hear it for Mr Hosty (Rousing chorus to see out the old and ring in the new!)

Hip hip hurray
Hip hip hurray
Hip hip hurray!

For he's a jolly good fellow,
For he's a jolly good fellow,
For he's a jolly good fellow,
Which nob'dy can deny.
Which nob'dy can deny.
Which nob'dy can deny.
For he's a jolly good fellow,
For he's a jolly good fellow,
For he's a jolly good fellow,
Which nob'dy can deny.

Congratulations and good luck with the relaunch.

Hear hear!
BAJR has made me realise that I should be doing all I can personally to improve things. I haven't done anything of course, but it has raised my enthusiasm for the possibility of change and general amelioration of conditions and standards. Err, roll on my next lay off maybe...

Hearing other voices has also confirmed my views of what is acceptable and reasonble site practice and educated me on what are basic legal requirements. This has given me more confidence in speaking out on site when things can be improved. Fortunately I am working for a unit which does listen and act on reasonable requests, and hopefully this culture will spread.
I would like to add my thanks to Mr Hosty and express my admiration for what he has achieved with BAJR - a fantastic resource for all of the profession, all done as a private initiative on his own time.

Well done and more power to your elbow.

I appreciate this... though I also have to thank the people that make it work!

A company (who shall remain nameless) did say that they have a problem with BAJR... why? Because it sets payscales and keeps them... you no pay you no advertise.... and because BAJR is now visited by 5500 a day it has the elbow to stick the moral boot in!

Another day another WSI?

The perfect answer to critics who have accused the messageboard of being only a talking shop.

Thanks hosty for all the hard work. Big Grin
Tiz an open shop and we talk in it.....critics usually have ulterior motives!

Thank you Mr Hosty- we have a voice and things are changing!Big Grin

Morning Troll,

How can anybody accuse you and me as operating a closed shop!.

To be pedantic this is actually BAJR mark II.

I do think everybody does need reminding, from time to time, how BAJR started and how much work David puts in and more to the poiny how little David earns from all of this.

What I find amazing is that what started out as a very "underground" bulletin board has evolved into somewhere consultants discuss the merits of type of contracts for example and other matters relating to the dark side.
