Well 5th of March sees me having been in archaeology for a year now and I have enjoyed everybit it...even the down times. I have met some ace people some stick in my mind more than others especially those guys and gals I worked with in Hull. I got to say it was a completly different experience and all my university experience counted for very little.
Some of the people I have worked over only a few months taught me so much, I still no good at planning doing that transect thingy though KD tried and tried.
So after a year where am I...I'm working in Bedford on a year contract....and I was told trowel fodder dont get them lol, they where wrong.
It actually took me 5 months to get a job in archaeology but since then I've not been unemployed...though I did get desperate and nearly became an immigration officer instead, thank god I didnt as I wouldnt have the people I had.
So all you starting out in archaeology good luck....its a wierd and wonderful and sometimes scary culture is archaeology.
May god go with you in all the dark places you must walk.
