I thought I might try my luck this way, since emailing and phoning units hasn't yet worked for me... To complete one of my MA modules, I need to do another 6 days excavation. Now as I have to work full time to pay for the wretched course, getting time off to do this is a pain in the bum. Does anyone know of anything happening in late December that I could join in with? I think I know which end of a mattock to use, can boil a kettle and am not afraid of hard/dirty work. Any help would be gratefully recieved.:D

All a bit quiet up here I'm afraid, although possibly the biggest excavation around on for the spring. Which end of the country are you?

I know of a few units that may well have some opportunities over Xmas, depends where you live. Also, does it have to be excavation specifically? If you would be willing to do post-excavation work (finds, environmental sample work etc) I feel sure you could get some days quite easily.
(I really have worked in the field)

Sorry, not in a position to make offers. And anyway my career stalled when I left the big smoke, so maybe it wasn't a great move. Then again I don't feel like running amok in tube stations anymore. I'm feeling much better now... honest.[8D]

The only thing you can do is keep phoning the trusts and local companies!
Don't the people at your college know anyone who can help?
