As im sureis the case with many archaeologists I am tired of the conditions etc - no need to go into it we know the problems (take not PROSPECT enuff with the questionaires)and what I would like to know is howdo I get more involved in making change happen? I am a prospect member and I joined the diggers forum, (best not get me started on the ifa but couldnt afford their rates if i wanted to join!) but i feel a bit like a passenger just waiting for things to happen.

Things are about to happen.... one way or another.

Why not contact the Digger Forum and ask them.
Or give Prospect an email asking them what they are doing.

BAJR - (just so's you now know)

has.... just joined SCAUM (In my commercial capacity) - which means a voice inside management control headquarters. Watch out for a website and access to information - very soon.

I have almost completed the 'New' April 2007 payscales, which have been refined to include overlap grades... You can now be a Supervisor/Field Officer (whatever you want to call your self) and be either a G3/4 G4 G4/5 it allows for training and progression as well as reward at each level. What is nearly completed is a 50point pay progression scale. (much more difficult at levels where continuity of employment is an issue)

BAJR is also seeking agreement on a above-inflation pay rise. (yes the Dignity Wage could be sticking its head slightly above the parapet)

Just so you know.

GGGGGGGGGGGGGgggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr......

Seriously though I just thought I best not be secretive myself...

Still doing my bleedin head in though the pay progression bit though... !

Is it fair to make it transferable? How do you do that? If you return to a company, can you continue at the level you left on? How do you prove you are at this/that grade? Can one companies assesment of your ability be relied upon by another? - things that help me get to sleep!
