Can't say enough about this site. It's got the lot. respect for staff, respect for volunteers, great management, good systems, time and effort, and great archaeology.

It shows what can be done, not taking away from professionalism, and in fact rewarding it.

keep an eye on it here....

A group to keep people up to date with the Archaeology Live! training excavations and other archaeology training opportunities linked with York Archaeological Trust.

We are dedicated to offering high quality archaeological training to everybody, regardless of age and experience.

There will be more opportunities to get involved in this exciting investigation into York's past with Archaeology Live! 2010.

During 2010 we will be investigating the Roman Cemetery and any medieval and Viking Archaeology which cuts into it. and join the facebook group

here are a couple or three of the photos they have on their album - they have scores of photos that show everything from finds to fun! and thats the rub... they are having fun and being serious at the same time... enough talking... have a look and join up... if you get a chance.. go and visit.

Thank you for the feedback!

The main DIG HUNGATE (http://www.dighungate.com/) site webpages are being revamped at the moment, but should be up in a couple of weeks. There will be more resources and other bits and bobs linked with the site so make sure you keep an eye open for the update. The Archaeology Live! training has been really lucky that it could join in with the Hungate project.

Archaeology Live! is coming towards its 10th season this year (we were based at other sites round York prior to being hosted by DIG HUNGATE in 2007) and will hopefully carry on for a long time beyond the Hungate project fieldwork ending in 2011. We are already looking at other exciting options in York and may even investigate sites further away.

Cheers
