classical archaeology!!!

HI, I just joined and I really need some help! I want to read Ancient History and Classical Archaeology at Uni and have just written my personal statement and filled in my ucas form etc but I need work experience of some sort and my teacher suggested a dig - does anyone have any ideas as I am at a complete loss! Also any backgrounf reading before the dreaded Oxford Interview would be extremely helpful!!!!
