Hi,
I was wondering if you had any thoughts on Edinburgh University for postgrad studies, I´m interessted in insect remains and applied to Edinburgh for my Masters.

Does anyone know if there are any other Universities that teach environmental archaeology and that have some insect remains people, I do know that Bournemouth does but I´m not that interested in going there.

greetings from Iceland

Hi there,

If your into insects then try Queens University Belfast. They run an Environmental Archaeology MSc and have a course option in entomology run by Dr Nicki Whitehouse (who's meant to be quiet good - don't know never actually meet her though). It's a good university as well.

If you follow the link it should take yu to the course website.

As I have learnt, just because you do post grad studies does'nt really get you a job.
sorry to be downbeat but its true
the defenition of a postgrad student is
someone who enjoyed student life and does'nt realise that the party's over.

I am currently a masters student at Edinburgh. It is not bad by any means. I have heard they are hoping to introduce more environmental subjects for choices, as Eva (who specialises insects told me she was designing some new courses for next year). If you want to know anything further let me know.

Thank´s fsjbrown, I just might take you up on that.

As for you deep, if there weren´t any masters students, there would be even fewer jobs for archaeologists and come on.....you should stop by in Iceland if you think Edinburgh is cold.;)
