I have been asked by the chef in my local if there are any universities in the UK that do courses on Aborginal Prehistory.
He has nearly completed a degree at the University of Queensland and is looking to see if there are opportunities for study in the UK.
Similarly what research is currently being done on cooking by hunter-gatherer societies.
Best wishes.

Research on cooking in hunter-gatherer comunities in the past or present or both?
Best option would be to go around and look at the specialisations of various lecturers in Departments and take it from there. Some departments have people interested in hunter-gatherer archaeology in general, while others do Oceania/ Australia.
Lampeter has got both (waving my flag!), but I am sure there are others. e.g. UCL has a world-archaeology focus and people doing hunter-gatherers etc.

An enquiry to the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at UCL might turn up something. I know archaeologists who have gone there to study SE Asian archaeology and I'm guessing that the origins of indigenous Australians aren't too far removed from the roots of SE Asian archaeology.
