Hello!
i'm new here and new to the professional world of archaeology. i've been an amateur archi for quite a few years now, and at the tender age of 28, have decided that this is now the career path i'd like to take (god help me!:)).
i've enrolled at Reading uni for their part-time HE certificate program and am presently attending some of their excelent public courses.
i have also spent about a week in total working with manhead archaeological society excavating.
i'm looking for all of your advice as to how i might go about finding work as trainee site assistant.
do i need to finish my certificate? do i need to become a member of the IFA or other body? who are the best people to work for, universities or private bodies?
if you can help with these questions or give any guideance in taking these first steps please feel free to reply.
Thanks very much
